House in row, with bank on ground floor. Early C19 front on C17 or earlier fabric. Rendered, tile roof. Parallel-plan three storeys and attic, 2+2-windowed; 12-pane sashes, stone cills. Ground floor has full-width six-bay Ionic ashlar stone office frontage with pair of doors to transom-light, left, and door to fanlight in fourth bay, all under continuous entablature. There are plain bands above first and second-floor windows. In the coped parapet are three wide recessed panels. No.142 has a steep-pitched tiled roof; the roof to 143 cannot be seen from the street.
