GV II
House. Mid C17, extended C18 and 1926. Limestone and marlstone rubble with wooden lintels; thatch roof with brick and rubble stacks. 2-unit plan, extended and given a rear wing. 2 storeys and one storey plus attic. Earlier 2 bays, to left of 5-window front, are taller and have renewed cross window at ground floor with 2-light casements above, plus a small stair window to extreme right in line with stack. Irregular lower range has doorway to extreme left, a 3-light casement, a leaded 2-light casement, and has three 2-light dormers, all at different levels. Renewed stack to right of centre. C20 wing to rear of lower range is in similar style. Rear of taller range has leaded casements of 2 and 4 lights plus a small lattice window with a chamfered stone surround; plank door may be a later insertion. Present main entrance is in angle of C20 wing and main range. Interior; open fireplace with flanking winder stair; through-purlin roof with crossed principals and ridge purlin.
