STEVENTON KENNEL LANE SU4792 (East side) 11/45 Old Farm House 09/02/66 (Formerly listed as Belcher's Farmhouse, 5 Kennel Lane and under The Green)
GV II
Farmhouse, now house. C15 origins; early C17 addition; mid C17 addition to rear; late C18 front range. Red brick; old plain-tile roof; brick end stacks. 2-storey, 3-window range. 4-panel door to centre with C20 open porch. Segmental-headed 12-pane unhorned sashes to all openings with segmental brick heads. Flat brick band between ground and first floors. Rear cross-range of irregular timber-framing with brick infill, Interior not inspected but noted as having remains of cruck truss. "Smaller Domestic Architecture and Society in North Berkshire c.1300-c.1650, with special reference to Steventon" by C.R.J. Currie (PhD.Thesis. Oxon, 1976)
