ROUSHAM ROUSHAM PARK GARDENS SP4724 14/223 Palladian Gateway 27/08/57 (Formerly listed under Stable and gateway and two stone urns on pedestals adjoining) GV II* Gateway. c.1733-40 by William Kent. Limestone ashlar with chamfered rustication. Pedimented Palladian-style gateway with 6-panelled door is flanked by ramped walls with marble statues in niches. Visitors entered the gardens through this gateway. Forms a part of the landscape gardens laid out by William Kent c.1733-40. (Rousham Park is included in the H.B.M.C. Register of Parks and Gardens at Grade I; Buildings of England: Oxfordshire: p745)
