CHARLBURY CHURCH STREET SP3519 5/40 (South Side) Bell Hotel (formerly 27/8/56 listed as Bell Inn) GV II
Inn. 1700 on date stone. Coursed squared rubble; stone slate roof, 2-unit through-passage plan with later additions and L-shaped wing to east. 2 storeys; 3-window range, main part symmetrical. Panelled door with timber lintel is flanked by two 2-storey slightly canted bay windows with pairs of sashes with glazing bars. Dentilled cornice to right bay. Smaller sash window with glazing bars and horns above door. Gabled dormers to right and left have casements. One C20 roof-light in centre. 2 gable-end chimneys and one ridge stack to left of centre. L-shaped wing to left is a 2-window range with one canted ground-floor bay window. 2 storeys and attic at front; 3 storeys to rear with 16-pane sash windows. Rear of main part has large C20 extension with twin gables.
