Water mill, now disused, with mill house. Early-mid C18, altered and extended
early C19. Coursed limestone rubble with dressed quoins and stone slate roof,
half-hipped over right bay of house. Rebuilt ashlar chimneys, one on ridge to
left of house, the other to rear right corner. L-plan, the mill wing projecting
to left. Front gable end of mill has small door to former wheel, now removed,
and loft door. Right return has segmental stone arch over mill-race, and old
board door to right with dressed stone jambs and flat stone arch. Over door is a
small 2-light casement. Skylight to loft. Mill house is of 2 storeys and attic,
and 2 bays, the right bay of C18 build. C20 barred wooden casements, mostly of 3
lights but with smaller 2-light windows to first floor right and extreme left.
Central board door. Lower openings have flat stone arches, the door and left
window also with dressed jambs; upper windows have wooden lintels. Skylight in
left bay. Right gable end has similar casements, and rear has projecting stair
turret with small windows. Mill retains some machinery, including main gear
wheels.
