SP2404-2504 KENCOT 8/213 Asthall Farmhouse 12/09/55
GV II Farmhouse. Mid C18, altered C19 and C20. Coursed rubble limestone with slobbered pointing; stone slate roofs; rebuilt rubble stone and concrete ridge chimneys. L-plan. 2 storeys and attic, 4-bay front wing, the left bay probably a late C18-C19 addition. 2 left bays have C20 paired barred wooden casements with wooden lintels, the ground floor windows in altered openings. Right bays have C20 canted bay windows with barred wooden casements to ground floor, and boxed 3-pane sashes with wooden lintels above. 4 gabled roof dormers with 2-light wooden casements. Left end has lean-to extension with C20 half-glazed door; another door in right gable end. Rear wing is altered and extended C20, and has C20 wooden casements with concrete lintels. Interior has heavy chamfered spine beams, keyed for later plaster covering.
