13/39 No. 12 (Kings Head Inn) -
GV II
House, now inn. Mid-C19 re-fronting of C16 or C17 building with later additions and alterations. Red brick with timber frame to side and rear, slate roof and internal end stack to left. 3 storeys, corbelled eaves cornice; 3-window front, plate-glass sashes to first floor and one plate-glass sash and 2 casements to second floor; C19 inn front completely re-modelled late C20 but retains consoles supporting plain entablature, boarded door to passageway on left has rectangular barred overlight. Light square panels exposed to right side of passageway which has chamfered beam with straight-cut stops. Low timber framed range to rear has square panels and painted brick infill. Interior: chamfered spine beam to long range but other ceiling beams boxed in.
