No. 6 (Melrose House) (formerly listed at No. 6) GV II

Dwelling and shop. C18. Double banked with central valley, and back projection; gable stack. Smooth render, alternating stone quoins, deep coved cornice, welsh slate front slope, some tile, one internal slope stone slate. Two storey, three window, sashes without bars. Late C19 shop front left, good C18 stone doric door surround with three-quarter columns and open pediment; six panel door with plain glass fanlight; staircase, window on return wall to Clarence Road 'Gothick' head and detail. Small enclosed area around door, with spear-head iron railings about 3 ft high, and pair of gates. Facade probably rebuilt at some stage see straight joint on flank wall.
