Details
GLANTON FRONT STREET NU 0714 (North side) Glanton Village 21/203 Town Farmhouse GV II
House. Mid-C18 altered in-early C19. Squared stone with cut dressings; Scottish slate roof with rendered left end stack. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys, 3 bays, slightly irregular. Right-of-centre fielded-panel door with overlight. 4-pane sash windows; all openings in raised stone surrounds with narrow chamfers. Between upper left windows brass Phoenix Insurance Company Plaque. Moulded eaves cornice on large moulded corbels; gables with pitched coping; end stacks, that on right with quadripartite chamfered shaft and moulded cornice, that to left rebuilt on old base. Left return shows similar 4-pane sash on ground floor. Right return shows boarded attic window in stone surround.
Interior: 6-panel doors except for older fielded-panel door on understair cupboard, panelled shutters; open-well stair with 2 stick balusters per tread, square newels and moulded handrail.
Mid-C19 wing to rear left is altered and not of special interest.
