SK 56 NW PARISH OF PLEASLEY PLEASLEY VALE 8/140 (East Side) Lodge at West Entrance 31.8.88 to Pleasley Vale GV II

Lodge. Mid C19. Tudoresque style. Coursed squared sandstone with sandstone dressings. Welsh slate roof with bands of plain and fishscale slates. Decorative stone stack. Stone coped gables. Some gables with fretted barge boards and pendants. Plinth, and moulded sill band. Single storey with attic. Irregular plan and elevation. The entrance is at a corner, with triangular porch which has a sepertate pyramid roof and shallow four-centred arched opening. Doorway within has a plank door. To the right are two gabled bays with single bar segmental headed sashes set in square headed chamfered stone surrounds. Small gabled roof dormer. Twin gabled elevation to left of the porch has a canted bay window with a square window above. The gable set back to the left again has a further window in chamfered stone surround; all three boarded up at the time of re-survey.
