8/17 L-shaped range of barns - approximately 15m north- east of Wilderley Hall

2 barns. Early and mid-C17 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed with weatherboarded and corrugated iron cladding, corrugated iron roofs. Ranged in L-shape around north-west and south-west sides of farm- yard. North-west barn: 2 levels; one raking eaves dormer to left on north-west side, doorway to left of centre with carved scrolled head and C19 door to right; interior: has inserted full-length loft; framing: 3 square panels from cill to wall-plate with long curving tension braces to gable end; Queen-strut roof in 5 bays with straight windbraces. South-west barn: former threshing entrance in second bay from south-east now with C20 iron sliding doors; framing: exposed internally, large square and rectangular panels, 2 and 3 from cill to wall-plate; Queen-post roof in 4 bays with straight windbraces. Wilderley Hall is not included.
