GV II

Stables, garages, former granary, and house. Early and mid- to late C19, incorporating some probably early C18 fragments and with some late C20 alteration to house. Red brick with stone dressings; plain tile roofs. L-plan; stables, granary and former granary aligned east-west, and house returned to north-west. Projecting eaves, moulded stone eaves cornice to stables; stone coped parapeted gable ends with moulded stone kneelers. North front; garages and former granary to left: 3 first-floor openings, that in centre with 2 arched lights; boarded loft door off-centre to right with gabled hoist dormer; 3 pairs of boarded garage doors off-centre to right; window and boarded door to right with chamfered reveals, and pair of large boarded carriageway doors to left leading to courtyard behind. Stables to right: early Gothic Revival style. 2 circular pitching holes to loft; pair of 3-light windows with chamfered reveals flanking central pointed chamfered archway. Right-hand gable end of stables has first-floor quatrefoil window and ground-floor 2-light ogee-headed window with Y-tracery. Early C18 wall at rear of garage block to south-east with pilaster strips; plat band, moulded stone kneeler to gable-end parapet, and one wooden cross- window with gauged brick head. Interior of stables retains stalls to right and left of central entrance. The Coach house: 2-window front; C20 four- light wooden casements; C20 gabled brick porch to right with segmental- headed boarded door. Lower 2-storey block adjoining to right with first- floor 3-light segmental-headed casement; lean-to in front to left with segmental-headed boarded door and small casement, and C20 conservatory in lean-to to right. Included for group value.
