Details
BUILDWAS C.P. B.4380 (north side) SJ 60 SE 6/7 The Slip II Farmhouse. C17 with considerable later additions and alterations, principally of late C19/early C20. Timber framed on brick plinth with painted brick infill, machine tile roofs. Original 2-cell plan with slightly later range at right-angles to rear, altered by addition of mid-C19 gabled brick range to rear and larger planted timber framed extension with parallel range behind in late C19/early C20. One storey and attic; framing: square panels, 2 from raised cill to wall-plate, v-struts from collars to gables; irregular fenestration, C17 part has one late C19 and one C20 metal casement to left and right of C20 flat-roofed entrance porch with C20 gabled eaves dormers above to left and right; late C19/early C20 addition to left with 5-light canted bay window to ground floor and full gabled dormer directly above, contemporary red brick ridge and end stacks. Interior: not inspected but timber frame said to be substantially intact to C17 part.
