Details
ACTON BURNELL C.P. ACTON BURNELL SJ 50 SW 6/9 No. 10 GV II Cottage. C17 with mid-C19 remodelling. Timber framed with rendered infill, partly encased or rebuilt in painted brick; plain tile roof. Probably 2 framed bays at right-angles to road; Tudor Gothic remodelling. One storey and attic. Shaped barge boards with pendant finials; gabled dormer to south has 2-light metal casement with returned brick hoodmould; brick ridge stack off-centre to north and integral brick ridge stack to south. Framing: gable end to north has close studding with middle rail and long straight tension braces. West front: 2 windows, C19 wooden cross-windows with metal casements, that to right with returned brick hoodmould; central C20 half-glazed door and C19 gabled wooden porch with chamfered posts, curved brackets, shaped barge boards, and pendant finial. Gable end to north has C20 three-light attic casement and C19 two-light ground-floor casement. C20 brick lean-to addition to south. Interior not inspected, but likely to be of interest.
