SO 5095-5195 CARDINGTON C.P. CARDINGTON 12/27 Barn adjoining Rose - Cottage to south- west

Barn, now garage and store. C17. Weatherboarded timber frame on rubble plinth; addition to north-east in coursed yellow sandstone rubble; corrugated iron roof. 3+1 framed bays. Framing: square panels, 3 from sole plate to wall plate. Boarded door and window to right, large boarded double doors off-centre to left and 2-light segmental-headed wooden casement in later infill to left (former doorway - see brick infill beneath). Interior: tie-beam trusses with raking struts; end truss with collar, queen struts, and v-struts; butt purlins with wind braces. The small wedge-shaped stone part linking the barn and Rose Cottage is a later addition. Rose Cottage is not included on this list.
