2/125 Upper Edgebold - Farmhouse
- II
Farmhouse. Probably early C17 with later additions and alterations. Painted brick concealing timber frame, plain tile roof. Hall apparently of 2 1/2 framed bays with cross-wing projecting slightly to left; lower mid-C19 range to rear of cross-wing. 2 storeys; C20 casement windows, one to each floor of cross-wing and one to right on ground floor of hall range; entrance through mid-C20 flat-roofed porch in angle between ranges; prominent red brick ridge stack directly above. Exposed wall post to centre of left return of cross-wing and boxed wall-plate and purlin ends to front gable. Interior: not inspected, but noted as having chamfered spine beams to ground floor rooms. The house is surrounded by a moat to north and west.
