Details
WHITCHURCH URBAN C.P. BRICKWALLS SJ 53 NW SJ 5130 3780 4/38 Lime kilns approx. - 40 metres to north- east of Brickwalls Bridge - II
Lime kilns. Circa 1804. Roughly squared and coursed yellow/grey sandstone. Pair of segmental-arched kilns with battered corner piers and canted retaining walls. Earth banked up at rear. The lime kilns are sited near the Ellesmere and Llangollen Canal and there was formerly a wharf here. Brickwalls. Bridge, which spans the canal at this point, is not included on this list.
