MARKET DRAYTON C.P. STAFFORD STREET (north-west side) No. 9 (Tudor Cafe)

GV II

House, now café. Mid-to late C17 with C18 alterations and additions. Timber framed with plastered infill panels, partly rendered, on painted sandstone rubble plinth. Partly refaced or rebuilt in red brick. Plain tile roof. 2 or 3 framed bays at right angles to road. One storey and attic. Truncated brick ridge stack. C20 three-light attic casement and central ground-floor C20 small-paned wooden casement. C20 small-paned glazed door to left with early C19 doorcase consisting of reeded pilaster strips, frieze and cornice. Gabled eaves dormer to right-hand return front with 2-light wooden casement. C18 or addition at rear with dentil brick eaves cornice and gabled eaves. dormer to left-hand return front with 2-light wooden casement. Late C20 flat-roofed addition to north-east. Interior not inspected but pair of chamfered beams noted in ground-floor front room.
