Garden Terrace. 1696-1730, by Richard Grange. Lias stone cut and squared, for base,
with Ham ashlar openwork balustrades with piers capped by urns. 7 bays to each side of
central wide sweep staircase to match, 16 treads; similar untapered flight of stairs to East
end of terrace: Terrace paved with Keinton flagstones set diagonally. Terrace not as
illustrated on original elevation/Plan for South side of Ven House (qv), but probably the
original as executed.
