BRUTON CP ST63SE WYKE CHAMPFLOWER Base of Cross in Churchyard, 2 5/207 metres West of North Porch, Church of The Holy Trinity II GV Base of cross. Probably C15. Doulting stone, about 700mm square by 250mm high, top corners chamfered, much weathered. Probably the socket from 'Wyke Cross', which in C18 had 3 steps and most of shaft; in Cl9 had signpost set into mortice: it formerly stood at the crossroads, date of relocation unknown. (Pooley "Old Crosses of Somerset', 1877)
