BRUTON CP STATION ROAD (West side) ST6834NW 8/182 Dampier Chest Tomb, in churchyard about 7 metres West South West of the West Tower, Church of Saint Mary.

GV II

Chest Tomb. Late C18. Doulting and Keinton stone. Moulded base; plain Keinton slab sides, deep top moulding with slightly hipped top. Traces of incised work on South flank; part of an inscription readable on East side includes John Dampier, died 1809.
