WEST CHINNOCK CP HIGHER STREET (West side) ST41SE 3/220 Numbers 1 to 9, Church Close (formerly listed as Range of 9 cottrages (Nos 1 to 9 New Buildings) 19.4.61 - II
Terrace of 9 cottages. Early C19. Local stone cut and squared with Ham stone dressings; Welsh slate roof over stone slate base course between coped gables; brick chimney stacks. 2-storeys, 2-bays arranged in handed pairs, set at right angles to road. Entrance doors set into cambered arched recesses having incised spandrils and labels over; above these a variety of later single-light windows: main windows, one to each level, are 2-light (4 centre heads) mullioned windows with incised spandrils under labels, having cast iron diamond lattice inserts, with similar windows in North wall overlooking churchyard.
