15/16 Unidentified chest tomb, in churchyard about 22 metres south of porch, Church of St John the Baptist -

GV II

Chest tomb. Early-mid C18. Possibly Doulting. Flat topped, moulded cornice, plinth below ground; 3 fluted pilasters on south front with 2 raised oval panels - inscription illegible, north front badly damaged, oval panel and central pilaster missing, inserted section of inscribed lias stone from an unidentifiable source, east end carved with hour glass with ribbon set above scull and cross bones, west end obscured by ivy at time of survey (June 1984), All in very poor condition.
