ASHWELL LANE 1. 1133 (South Side) Higher Edgarley Farmhouse ST 5138 8/95 21.6.50 II 2. Late medieval origin, mostly rebuilt and altered in C19 and later. 2 storeys to left and 1 storey to right. Random rubble, brick dressings to windows. Pantile roofs, hipped at south end. Parapet with kneeler to right gable-end. 2 windows, sashes with marginal glazing bars. 1-storey section to right retains wall of original masonry. 4-centred stone arch with carved spandrels and deeply moulded jambs. Above is a carved panel with cusped quatrefoil. Long 1-storey range to rear.
