School, vestry rooms, and school house, now school. Central stone plaque with incised lettering:- "MEARE SCHOOL BUILT BY SUBSCRIPTION. 1840." Coursed and squared rubble, slate roofs, coped verges, brick stacks, 2 of which are truncated; central ashlar bellcote rising from eaves, 2 stages, clock to lower stage, upper stage gabled with a bell. Tudoresque; 2 storeys, 3:3:1 bays, single-light casements with 4-centred heads, stopped labels; centre 3 bays break forward, outer 2 windows to this portion on first floor large and of 3-lights with double transoms; stone lintols with emphasised keys. Central door opening with a 4-centred head, 2 panelled door, label.
