SK5639NE PARK TERRACE 646-1/19/476 (South West side) Herbarium cave adjoining No.14A to west (not included)

GV II

Man made ornamental cave. c1870. Made for Alderman Thomas Herbert. 2 rectangular caves at different levels, each approx 3m x 2m. Both have rock cut ledges on 3 sides, which may have been for potted plants. This cave and others nearby were originally garden features in the grounds of Herbert's house in the Ropewalk (not included). Overlying buildings are not of special interest.
