GV II
House and attached boundary wall. 1838-39. By PF Robinson for the 4th Duke of Newcastle. Altered later C19. Stucco with slate roof. 2 external coped side wall stacks with a blind round-arched window at first floor level. Rusticated rear basement, ground floor band, eaves cornice and coped parapet. Windows are mainly original glazing bar sashes. 3 storeys plus rear basement; 2 window range. Symmetrical front, facing the Park, has 2 windows on each floor in diminishing courses. Those above the basement have louvre shutters. At the rear, a central stair turret, 2 storeys, with cornice and a single first floor window. Below, a gabled porch with glazed roof and round-arched door and fanlight. Beyond, on each side, 2 windows on each floor. Outside, flanking the porch, a boundary wall, stucco with stone coping. Approx 15m long. To left, a square end pier. To right, a coped projection, then a panelled door and another pier. This building is part of an early scheme by the 4th Duke of Newcastle to develop the Park Estate. (Get to know Nottingham: Brand K: The Park estate, Nottingham: Nottingham: 1984-: 15).
