SHIRBURN SHIRBURN PARK SU69NE 4/154 Orangery approx. 120m. N of Shirburn Castle.
GV II
Orangery. Early C19. Limestone ashlar; gabled Welsh slate roof. One storey; 9-window range. Arcaded front of tall round-headed windows with cast-iron lights of vertical divisions. Similar rear elevation and 3-bay side walls. Inspection not possible. Description compiled from photographs and printed sources. The orangery was probably built in anticipation of a royal visit in 1808. (Shirburn park and gardens are included in the HBMC Register of Gardens at Grade II; V.C.H.: Oxfordshire, Vol. VIII, p. 181).
