Details
BRADFORD-ON-TONE CP ST12SE HELE 5/14 Hele Bridge at NGR ST 1869 2475 25.1.56 GV II Road bridge over River Tone, Probably C15, subsequently repaired, RSJ inserted and parapet rebuilt early C20. Local stone random rubble, ashlar dressings, red brick parapet, glazed blue tile coping. Plan: 3-arch span, 4-centred arches chamfered in 2 orders, cutwaters to central span, abutments probably rebuilt, road carried on RSJs, brick parapet with shallow brick piers, north west corner of parapet rebuilt late C20. A very crude adaption of a medieval structure to C20 usage.
