Details

CORFE CP CORFE VILLAGE ST2319 CORFE VILLAGE 12/21 Brook Farmhouse 25.2.55 II Farmhouse, C16, enlarged C17, restored 1984. Random rubble lias and sandstone, quoins to upper half of right hand block, rendered south-west gable end, thatched roof with higher roof to right, brick stacks gable ends and left gable end of right block. Plan: not clear without internal inspection. One and a half storeys facing north-west, 3:2 bays;left block with 2 large raking buttresses reaching to eaves, windows rising from eaves, ovolo moulded mullioned windows flanking unusual 2-light leaded casement with shouldered architrave, right tiny wooden 2-light steeply chamfered millioned window with 3-light ovolo moulded casement to right, 2-light opening beside. Ground floor right two 2-light steeply chamfered mullioned casements, 4-light ovolo moulded beyond, right hand block entrance with rusticated surround, thatched hooded porch, C19 many panelled door, 2 later windows beyond; rear elevation 3 ovolo moulded mullioned windows, otherwise C20 fenestration. Interior not seen. An unusual survival of a large number of C17 mullioned windows.
