CORFE CP ST22l9 CORFE VILLAGE 12/26 Grange Court GV II Shown on OS map as The Mews. Stables to Barton Grange (qv) now dwelling and antique shop. Mid C18. Roughcast over rubble. ashlar Ham stone dressings, bitumen covered hipped slate roofs, brick stacks rising from eaves left on main block and set in from hipped roofs of wings. U-plan: originally central carriage house with accommodation over flanked by wings containing stables with heated tack rooms in outer bays, now dwelling left with antique shop right and store rooms centre. Two storey centre, single storey wings, 1:3 bays; gable ends of wings with 3 semi-circular headed niches cut by flat string band, inserted C20 window left, original lunette window right, centre 3 semi-circular headed windows first floor, ground floor 2 large semi-circular headed recessed panels with carriageway entrances, 2 smaller niches in outer bays all linked by flat string as entablature, C20 double doors, ashlar coat of arms added left,,unconnected with original owners of the property. Three bay re-entrant angles, C20 door inserted in angle left, right carriageway through with entrance to tackroom right and stables with some panelling surviving left. C20 fenestration at rear.
