5/41 Churchyard cross, about 11 metres South East of chancel, Church of St Mary

GV II

Churchyard cross. Possibly C15, restored probably 1861. Local stone, circular 2 stage calvary with dripstone to lower stage, eroded socket with C19 addition of plinth, shaft, and gabled cross. Pooley comments that weather drips are rare on circular bases. (Pooley, Old Crosses of Somerst, 1877).
