YALDING BENOVER ROAD TO 74 NW (South-west side) 4/66 Little Benover (formerly listed 23-5-67 as Little Benover Farm House) GV II
Farmhouse, now house. Late C16 or early C17. Timber framed with rendered infilling. First floor of left gable end tile-hung. Plain tile roof. Approximately 3 timber-framed bays, that to left end shorter and possibly a later addition. Apparently integral rear return wing to right. 2 storeys. Brick plinth to left end bay, stone plinth to rest. Continuous jetty, returned to right on moulded dragon post. Broadly-spaced studding. Two ogee tension braces to central bay and one to right end. Half-hipped roof. Brick stack in front slope of roof to left end of central bay, and projecting brick stack to right gable end. Irregular-fenestration of 3 leaded casements; one two-light;to;left end bay, another to centre, and one four-light to right end bay. Ribbed door with one moulded jamb and moulded four-centred arched head with carved spandrels, to right end of central bay. Rear right return wing has jetty to long right side continued from that of main range, one arch-braced panel towards main range, and rest of right side weatherboarded. Roof half-hipped to rear. Rear lean- to to rest of main range. Interior not inspected.
