TQ 74 NW MARDEN HUNTON ROAD (west side)
1/100 Oasthouse about 40 metres west of Gatehouse Farmhouse GV II Oasthouse. C19, with 1914 addition. Left kilns and ground floor of stowage red and grey brick in Flemish bond, right kiln red brick. First floor of stowage weatherboarded. Plain tile roofs. Rectangular stowage with 2 circular kilns to left gable end and one rectangular stowage of 1914 to right gable end. Stowage 2 storeys. Cogged brick eaves cornices to left kilns, plain eaves band to right kiln. Half- hipped roof to stowage. Conical roofs to left kilns, pyramidal to right, all with cowls. Vents to base of left kilns, and small rectangular light about half way up. Small two-light wooden casement to left of centre of stowage, blocked light to right of centre, and two-light ground floor window with segmental head. Boarded first- floor door to left end of stowage, with evidence for external staircase. Similar door to ground floor below. Sliding boarded first-floor door to right end of stowage. Boarded door with segmental head to right gable end wall of right kiln, with 1914 datestone above. Interior not inspected.
