Sewstern (north side) 2/7 Pair of farmhouses, front railing and boundary wall

Pair of farmhouses. 1752, refenestrated late C20. Coursed and squared limestone with limestone ashlar dressings and slate roof. Chamfered plinth, coped gables with kneelers, 2 gable and central ridge coped stone stacks. 3 storeys plus garrets, 7 bays. Symmetrical south side has 2 fronts. That to left has a half- glazed C20 door with glazing bar overlight, flanked by single wooden cross mullioned casements. To right, a C20 half-glazed door with overlight and a flanking light to the left, flanked by single wooden cross mullioned casements. Above, each front has a central blind window flanked by single wooden cross casements. Above again, each front has a smaller blind window, flanked by single 2 light casements. Between the fronts, a datestone inscribed "ATW 1752". Each gable has a blocked casement to the garret. Outside, early C19 cast iron spearhead railing with 2 gates and posts with finials. Beyond, to left, an adjoining boundary wall, L-plan, 5M long, with a blue brick coping.
