Great Dalby (north-west side) 16/19 The Royal Oak
II
Public house. Mid C18 with mid C19 and late C20 additions. Timber box framing with brick nogging and brick, whitewashed. Steep pitched corrugated iron sheet over thatch and gabled slate roofs. Rendered rubble plinth. 2 gable and single side wall brick stacks. Single and 2 storeys, 4 bays. L-plan. Front has blocked central doorway containing C20 casement, flanked by single C18 3 light sliding sashes with shutters. To left, C20 gabled porch with part glazed door. To right, single storey addition has to left, 2 light sliding sash with shutters, flanked by single smaller C20 casements. Beyond, to right, plain C20 door. Above, 3 two light sliding sashes. South west end has to right, porch with C20 casements. Above, central 2 light sliding sash. Rear has flat roofed late C20 addition, single storey, in return angle. Interior has chamfered span beams and 2 bay posts.
