II
Hall house, now house. Late C15 extended early C19, altered
and extended late C20.
MATERIALS: part timber frame encased in red brick, part red
brick, all in Flemish bond. Old tile hipped and gabled roof.
PLAN: rectangular plan of 2 framed bays with extensions at
right and at rear.
EXTERIOR: C20 casement windows and sash windows with glazing
bars, those on ground floor with segmental brick arched
heads. 2 storeys with brick dentilled eaves on C19 extension
at right. Single ridge chimney on right, cut down, and one
chimney at rear. Road front, south-east, irregular. Left hand
section has two 2-light windows on first floor, one on right
gabled dormer flush with wall and breaking eaves. One 3-light
and one 2-light window on ground floor with French casements
and side lights on right, set in enlarged opening. Lean-to
hipped enclosed entrance porch on left with plain door. Above
this, roof framing visible in the gable. Right hand section,
taller with one 2-light window on first floor, and 2 sash
windows on ground floor.
INTERIOR: part of the timber frame visible, with curved wind
braces. Redundant crown post roof.
