5/64 Gate piers and gate, steps, balustrade and wall at Churchyard of St. John the Baptist

GV II*

Gate piers and gate, steps,balustrade and wall. C18. Ashlar, rubble stone and wrought iron. Leading to W front of Church (q.v.) a pair of gate piers with pineapple finials and fine wrought iron gate. Beyond is a flight of 9 stone steps with balustrade either side. To the right of the piers a retaining wall c2m high borders the Churchyard. It contains a horsetrough. The gate was originally at King's Norton Hall, demolished late C18. Pevsner.
