3/56 Frieston House 19-2-52 G.V. II

House, C17 with C18 and C19 alterations and additions. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings, stone coped gables with moulded gable stacks end slate roof. Main block has parallel ranges. South (garden) front has main block of 2½ storeys and three bays, with to the left part of the original house now of only one bay and 2 storeys with a moulded gable stack. Main block has an off centre glazed panelled C19 door with to the left a single C20 glazing bar fixed light window. To the right is a C19 3 light glazing bar sash canted bay window with a hipped slate roof. On the first floor of the main block are 3 single glazing bar sash windows, the centre one of which is dropped to light the stair. Above are 3 smaller glazing bar sashes, the central one is vertical, the others are horizontal. All original windows in the main block have flat lintels with emphasised keystones. The left hand range has single 3 light cavetto mullioned windows on each floor with moulded surrounds and cornices. North front has modillioned wood cornice, and 6 panelled door with panelled reveals, reeded pilaster strips and small hood on brackets.
