Details
TF 00 NE TALLINGTON MILL LANE (west side) 9/198 Tallington Mill
G.V. II Water mill and house. c.1700 extended and altered early C19. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, slate and corrugated iron roofs, with overhanging eaves to house only. 2 red brick gable stacks. 3 units comprising single storey loading bay to left, 2 storey mill and wheel house to right with beyond a 3 storey house. The mill has an off-centre panelled door with to left a 3 light window with ashlar reveals and timber lintel. To first floor a similar door and window. Beyond to the left the early C19 loading bay block contains a planked door and a window, both with segmental ashlar heads. To the right is the early C19 house with planked door having to left a 3 light casement and to right a glazing bar sash. The left hand window has a timber lintel and above is a similar window. The other openings have ashlar lintels and there are single similar sashes to the upper floors. The mill retains its wheel chamber and some pulley gearing.
