2/12 Home Farmhouse
G.V. II
Farmhouse. Late C17, altered and extended early C19. Coursed
squared limestone rubble. Ashlar quoins and dressings. Slate
roofs having raised stone coped gables and 3 gable stacks, one
with brick shaft, the other 2 with paired ashlar. shafts and
cornices. 2 storey with attics, 3 bay front having central 6
panelled door with overlight, flanked by single glazing bar
sashes. To first floor are 3 similar windows, between the left
hand pair a fire insurance plaque. All openings with plain
ashlar lintels and keystones. In the roof 2 raking dormers,
glazing bar sashes and leaded cheeks. To left are 3 bays of
service wings, each progressively recessed and reducing in
height. Off-centre planked door has, to right, a 3 light glazing
bar casement and a glazing bar sash. To first floor are a
similar window, 2 light casement and a 2 light sliding sash.
All with plain ashlar lintels. In the rear wall a 2 light window
to the cellar and single blank lights to the upper floors. All
C17 with moulded ashlar surrounds.
