Former house. 1870s. Common brick with red brick and stone dressings, slate roofs. 3 storeys with basement, 5 bays, 2nd bay breaks forward, 4th bay projects as tower. Weathered basement lintel band, 1st floor sill band and bracketed cornice over. Varied fenestration, most windows with mullions and transoms. 3rd bay has 5-light windows with traceried heads, 2nd floor recessed behind pierced balcony, window has hipped dormer. Tower has octagonal turret to left with top round stage and conical spire; clasping buttress to right. Entrance has Tudor arch with continuous mouldings and Tudor flower; arched panelling over. Top storey has glazed quatrefoils; top parapet rebuilt. 2nd and end bays have timbered gables with decorative bargeboards and painted terracotta diapered infill. Projecting stair window on right hand wall with elaborate Tudor Gothic tracery in red sandstone. Garden front has overhanging wooden balconies on brackets, and basement projects beneath balustraded terrace.
