Public House. Mid C19 with later tile facing. Brick with
stone dressings, hipped slate roof. 3 storeys and 3 bays.
Canted corner bay and 3 bays to Langton Street. Ground
floor has facing of glazed tiles with arabesque decoration.
Cornice above; 2nd floor sill band and top cornice. Ground
floor windows have casements, paired window to 3rd bay. 1st
and 2nd floor windows have wedge lintels and are sashed, no
glazing bars, those to outer bays are tripartite. Central
entrances to both facades and entrance to corner bay have
small-paned overlights. Corner has iron overthrow
supporting lantern. Interior has simple wood fittings and
panelling; part is gas-lit. Of special interest for the
well-preserved polychrome tilework.
