Details

HAREBY CHURCH LANE TF 36 NW (east side) 1/18 Church of St.Peter and St. Paul 3.2.67 II Parish church. 1858 on earlier walling and reusing some C14 details. Greenstone rubble, red brick, ashlar dressings, plain and bull-nosed tiled roof. Nave with western bellcote, chancel. At the west end, angled corner buttresses. Pointed C19 outer arch with above a C14 cusped niche with decorative side panels. Above a C19 trilobe and a gabled bellcote corbelled out from ashlar buttress with ogee headed bell opening. The north side of the nave is blank. Pent roofed vestry with trefoil headed lancet. In the east end of the chancel a 2 light C19 window and blank cusped shield panel over. On the south side 2 C19 trefoil headed lancets. In the south wall of the nave are 3 two light C19 windows with triangular heads. C19 double chamfered chancel arch with octagonal capitals and imposts. In the chancel a C19 pointed opening to chancel. All roofs and fittings are C19. C17 circular font with pilasters on bulbous stem and octagonal base. Tablet to Wingate family dated 1920, possibly by Eric Gill.
