6/29 The Red Lion Hotel
G.V. II
Posting house, now hotel. Late C17, late C18, early C19, C20. Colourwashed and rendered brick. Steeply pitched plain tiled roof with moulded wooden eaves, single ridge stack and gable stacks. L-plan. 2 storeys and attic, 5 bay south front with carriage archway to right with rectangular wooden lintel. 2 shallow late C18 bow windows to left, each with flanking pilasters, 3 plain sashes and moulded entablature. 5 glazing bar sashes above with moulded architraves. 3 gabled dormers above with bargeboards, applied timber frame decoration and 3 light casements. North-west range to rear older but thoroughly re-modelled in C19.
