CRANE COURT EC4 1. 5002 (East Side) No 5 TQ 3181 SW 7/78 4.1.50.
II GV
2. Circa 1670 by Nicholas Barbon, but badly damaged by fire 1971 and largely reconstructed in facsimile. Front and rear walls entirely rebuilt. 3 storeys plus basement and slated mansard. 5 windows. Red brick with flat arches to windows, floor bands and parapet. Slight doorcase with architrave and flat hood on shaped brackets. Rear elevation to Red Lion Court has less regular windows with segmental arches: painted pilasters to ground storey with coarsely carved frieze. The interior also mainly reconstructed. Includes decorative plaster ceilings reconstructed but incorporating much original decorative work.
