Mausoleum. c1890 by George and Peto. Red terracotta interlocking blocks with paler bands, dressings and tiled roof. Rectangular plan set into raised ground. Elliptical arch entrance with billet surround having relief angels in spandrels; elaborate wrought iron door grilles approached by stone steps. Moulded band at sill level continues around the buildings. 4-light cusped openings with relief angel spandrels on long sides; elaborate wrought iron grilles. Billet and cusped enriched eaves cornice and steeply pitched hipped roof with Vitruvian scroll patterning and moulded ridge tiles. Sir Henry Tate made his fortune by developing sugar cube and refining process. Art collector and philanthropist he founded the Tate Gallery, also designed by S.R.J. Smith.

2. Circa 1890 by Sydney R J Smith. Terra-cotta mausoleum of interlocked blocks with high pitched hipped slab roof. Delicate mouldings to eaves and doorway, with reliefs of angels in spandrels. Four light Tudor arched windows and door all have wrought iron grilles.
