(1858 foundation stone) by Charles Lee. Formerly St John the Evangelist. Kentish
Rag with ashlar dressings in mixed Early English and Decorated style with slate
roof. The angle-buttressed north-west tower with tall stone broach spire pierced
by lucarnes is the key to the asymmetrical composition.
Interior with octagonal piers to 4-bay arcades of nave and open timber truss roof.
Two-light clerestory windows. Chancel arch and open timber chancel roof.
East window of lancets and wheel tracery.
Three-lancet west and transept windows.
Octagonal gabled baptistery to north-east.
