POUND STREET 1. 4430 (North-West Side) CARSHALTON Boundary Walls to Carshalton House along Pound Street and Shorts Road TQ 2764 NE 18/158 TQ 2764 SW 19/158 TQ 2764 SE 20/158 II GV 2. Part of same item as boundary walls to Carshalton House in West Street [see under West Street, West Side]. Late C17 to C18. High walls of red brick with red brick or rendered plinth extend both northwards and southwards from gates and lodge to Carshalton House in Pound Street [for gates, see next item]. One wall extends continuously from the gates southwards as far as the corner with Carshalton Road, where it has been renewed, westwards along Carshalton Road as far as corner with Shorts Road and then returns north as far as entrance to school in Shorts Road; modern brick piers to entrance gates in Shorts Road. Another wall extends north- eastwards from gates and lodge in Pound Street as far as corner of Pound Street with West Street; wall then returns north-west to Water Tower and then north- west again as far as No 3 West Street; for the latter section see under West Street. Walls have been repaired in places.
Boundary Walls in Pound Street, Lodge to Carshalton House and gates and gate piers to Carshalton House form a group.
